Installing DTC Universal Programming Software on your PC

NOTE: Uninstall any previous versions by going to Add/Remove Programs, clicking on Universal Programmer, and clicking on uninstall.

Complete the following steps:

1. Download the DTCsoftware_xxx.zip file from the dtccom.com web site.
2. Save the downloaded file to your PC.
3. Unzip the file using WinZip or similar utility.
4. Double-click DTCsoftware.exe.
5. Click OK in the Run... dialog box.
   
   
   The DTC Installation Wizard displays.
   
6. Read and follow the installation wizard instructions and click Next.
7. Read and accept the license agreement and click Next.
8. Accept the default location C:\Program Files\ or choose a new
   location and click Next.
9. Accept default icon preferences or customize as desired and click Next.
10. Accept the Typical (DTC branded) installation, or choose Secure to
    hide references to DTC (for covert operations). Click Next.
11. Review the Pre-Installation Summary and click Install. The progress bar displays during installation.

12. The Install Complete message displays. Click Done.
    Your programming software is installed. You do not need to restart your computer.

DTC Device Configuration

1. Ensure that your transmitting antenna is connected if you are
   programming a transmitter.
2. Install one end of the programming cable to the PROGRAM connector on the DTC device. Connect a suitable power source to the device.
   
3. Install the other end of the programming cable to an open serial COM port on your computer.
4. Launch the Universal Programmer application and follow the on-screen instructions. The Connect to COMX Message Dialog box displays.
5. Confirm the correct COM port and click OK.
   (You can change the COM port connection by clicking Cancel and then selecting Connection > Change Com Port... from the pull down menus on the Main Screen.)
   The Cycle Power Message Dialog box displays.
6. Turn OFF or remove power from your DTC device and wait a few
   seconds. Then restore power to ON.
   Click OK.
7. Select the desired tab and setting that you want to modify. Once
   modifications are complete, click the Upload button.
