Senior
Digital/Analog Design Engineer# 07044
Participates on project design teams developing DC through
RF frequency analog and digital circuitry for radio
communication products, including initial documentation
and full transition into production. Promote and practice
world-class engineering development methodologies and
principles to ensure elegant design, functionality,
reliability, testability, manufacturability, and maintainability.
Position Accountabilities:
- Apply analog/digital hardware design and analysis
skills to design and implement analog and digital
circuits including; DSP and microprocessor based circuits,
operational amplifier circuits, active and passive
filters, transistor circuits, nonlinear circuits,
phase locked loops, frequency mixers, oscillators,
modulators, demodulators, linear and switching power
supplies
- Lead development projects through requirement, design,
prototype, qualification, and release to manufacturing
phases
- Provide thought leadership and assistance to Manufacturing
in order to improve/optimize assembly & test methods
& processes
- Provide technical leadership and direction to more
junior level engineers and engineering technicians
Required:
- BSEE and 10+ years designing and implementing analog
and digital circuits including DSP and microprocessor
based circuits, operational amplifier circuits, active
and passive filters, transistor circuits, nonlinear
circuits, phase locked loops, frequency mixers, oscillators,
modulators, demodulators, linear and switching power
supplies, in a design-for-manufacturing environment
where end products successfully transitioned to long-term
volume production
- Highly motivated, efficient, and enterprising with
an inherent ability to drive tasks and projects to
full completion
- A proven working knowledge of developing DSP and/or
microprocessor based hardware for portable applications
- Experienced with high speed digital circuit design
interfacing with A/Ds, DACs, CODECs and memory components
- Experience with low voltage, low power circuit
design
- Experience with circuit analysis and synthesis simulation
software
- Experience in multi layer PCB design and layout
environments including BGA and SMT design and manufacturing
environments
- Must be an effective communicator, both written
and verbal, in public and internal environments
- Ability to mentor and teach "best practices"
hardware design techniques to less senior engineers
and engineering technicians
- Ability to write effective hardware design qualification
and production test specifications
- Superior debug and board level verification of
integrated prototype hardware and software
Desired:
- Two-way radio design experience in a micro-controller
based environment
- Project development experience in an ORCAD environment
- Experience with the implementation of DSP components
for wireless communication systems
- Experience with designs based on FPGA and PLD technology
- C5000 and C6000 processors, especially OMAP based
devices
- Experience developing system and subsystem design
specifications
